Why do we worship God through Jesus Christ? To understand, we must first understand something about ancient covenants. Regardless of the type of covenant that was made - - and there were three main types - - they were sealed with a sacrifice and the shedding of blood.

There is no true worship without a relationship between the One being worshiped and the worshiper himself. Worship is a place of meeting, a time of interaction between God’s people and the object of their worship, God Himself.

There is a healthy fear. And there is an unhealthy fear. Always worrying and fretting about everything. Being scared of your own shadow. I like this saying someone once said worry is an old man with a bended head carrying a load of feathers, which he thinks are led.

We live in a problem-filled world. The root of the problems is that our ears have been deafened to the voice of God and tuned in to voices of culture, of criticism, of condemnation. When God speaks. Do we listen?

We, as a society, so undervalue rest, especially us as Christians! When it comes to spiritual disciplines, we have prayer, Bible study, devotions, fasting, and giving - - all of which are important - - but rest is rarely mentioned.

Remember Joseph of the Old Testament? He had two dreams that, unfortunately, he shared with his brothers. Because of those dreams, his brothers sold him to Ishmaelites who took him to Egypt and sold him to Pharaoh’s top manager, Potiphar.

Currently, one battle that is taking place in our nation is the battle about who is responsible for determining what is law and what’s not.

No one in this life is exempt from problems. A problem is a problem is a problem.  We shouldn’t look at other people’s struggles and consider them “less” than our own. 

Do not use God’s name to get your way. God knew the heart of man. He knew that man would try to find loopholes to annul the principles of God. When Jesus arrived, the scribes and Pharisees had been doing this for a long time.

We have a culture that baits us to the edge of disaster and then criticizes us when we step over the line.  Culture is not going to change. I have been doing a series these last few weeks on Bible application partly taken from James 1:22: “Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.” Application is what makes all the difference.

Wives husband’s parents, you have the power of life and death in the words that you speak what if now from here on out that instead of criticizing or being critical are speaking negatively over your children or your spouse. Or What if you purposely said God this a principle that works. What if I would replenish and encourage. I would also be encouraged as well.

God can’t be contained in any church or building. He is omniscient he is all-knowing. If God can be contained in a church, then when I leave the church I can do whatever I want.

What do you believe your purpose is in life? What you believe about it will drive the kind of choices you make with your time, relationships, finances - - everything.
